Charmian's 80th

Charmian Innes, elder daughter of Bill Innes of Gerrards Cross, was tall, slim, fashionable, opinionated, and popular, with many friends. Alas, Charmian is no longer with us. She had horses and was a generous hostess. Call in to see her and you could be sure of a cocktail or a dram of the good stuff! She married Donald Gor-don Griffiths, younger son of F.G. Griffiths of Polmont Park, Stirlingshire, shown below, sadly now demolished. Donald was a director of the family business near Falkirk called Bonnybridge Refractories Ltd. It made bricks used by Iron smelters. Donald and Charmian had two children, Peter and Carolyn.

Peter was schooled at Eton and like all Etonians often felt he ruled the world. He was very outgoing, strong, likeable and had many friends in Scotland and London. He married twice. His sec-ond wife, Susan, lives in a delightful, sprawling cottage next to Earlsneuk. Carolyn married Johnny Crowder, whose family owns part of Cornwall; they had two children, Charlie and Anna. After several years they parted amicably and Carolyn then married Aden Clark. They live in Guernsey, and Aden sails big yachts.
