Harold Innis was a Canadian political economist and pioneer in communications studies.
Harold Adams Innis was born on 05 November 1894 in South Norwich, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada [1] and was the son of Mary (Adams) and William Anson Innis.
During World War I, he served in France with the 1st Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, as an artillery signaller. He was seriously wounded on 07 July 1917 and invalided to Canada in March 1918. [2]
Harold Adams Innis married on 10 May 1921 in Wilmette, Cook County, Illinois, USA to Mary Emma Quayle [3] (1899-1972).
He was a professor who joined the Department of Political Economy at the University of Toronto, in 1920 and remained there until his death. [4]
He passed away on 08 November 1952 and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. [5]
