Have been researching for my mother Bertie Lee Chapman, the last remaining child of 10 from Pitt County, North Carolina! We have plenty of brick walls, and plenty of cousins marrying each other! Fun, fun, fun doing research. I have her DNA on Gedmatch, Ancestry, FTDNA and Myheritage and those brick walls still exist, but fortunately, we did breakdown one! My mother's father was orphaned and we finally found who his father was! Our surnames that we are aware of are Dunn, Mayo, Chapman and maybe Whitehurst.
My mom was born and raised in Pitt County, North Carolina in 1933 to Henry Chapman (1886) and Lucy Mayo 1891.
