Elisabeth was born on 8 October 1891 in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.[1][2]
When Elisabeth was 21 she married Ernst Friedrich August Torunski on 3 October 1913 in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The couple had 4 children: Peter Torunski, Ernst Torunski, Hans Joachim Torunski (1919-1969) and Karl Torunski.[3][4]
Elisabeth immigrated to Canada on board the ship "KOELN" together with her 2 sons Peter Torunski and Karl Torunski on 29 September 1929. She embarked the ship in Bremen on 17 September of the same year. [5]
In the 1931 census Elizabeth (age 39) was the wife of Ernest Torunski in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.[6]
Name | Age | Relation | Status | Sex |
Ernest Torunski | 49 | Head | Married | M |
Elizabeth Torunski | 39 | Wife | Married | F |
Peter Torunski | 16 | Son | Single | M |
Henry Torunski | 6 | Son | Single | M |
The reason for the absence of her 2 Sons Ernst Torunski and Hans Joachim Torunski (1919-1969) in the 1931 Census, is that both emigrated in November of 1931 and were staying in the meantime at their uncle's place in Methgethen according to Family stories. For further information about Ernst Siegfried and Hans Joachim see their profiles.
Elisabeth died at the age of 73 on 27 July 1965 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.[1]
I have the ship records of her and her kids but need time to include them. Cemetary category based on the obituary's mention of the memorial park. Due to the name changes of the Cemetary, it is however not sure.
