Biography

Sophia Mary Ireland was born on 19 September 1874 in Fiji, the daughter of Victoria Caroline Louisa Ireland and De Courcy Ireland.^{[citation needed]}

In 1897, she married her cousin Richard Whitaker Ireland,^{[citation needed]} and they had two children:^{[citation needed]}

• Valerie De Courcy Ireland (1903–1979)
• Sarah Victoria Ireland (1910–?)

Sophia died on 20 August 1949 at 100 Park Street, St Kilda, Victoria, Australia.^[1] Her remains were buried on 22 August 1949 in St Kilda Cemetery.^[2]
