Biography
Margaret Stein Ireland was born on 4 June 1886 [1] [2] in Widnes, Lancashire, England, the daughter of William Staines and Mary Ireland. [3]
She was born in 1886 before her parents married in 1889 and her birth was registered under her mother's name but she adopted the name Staines [3] [4]
In 1891, she and two of her siblings were living with her mother at her grandfather's house on Gerrard Street, Widnes. [3]
When Margaret was 25 she married Wilfred Whitfield on 18 February 1912 in St. Mary's Chapel, Great Sankey, Lancashire, England. [4]
In the 1939 register Margaret (age 53) was living in Lancashire, England. Marital Status: Married.[1]
