Francis Charles Ireland, son of William Ireland (abt.1792-1873) and Eliza (Bullock) Ireland (1799-1858), was born on Sept. 1, 1837 in Prince Edward Island. By 1854 he was studying for the Methodist ministry at Victoria College in Cobourg, Canada West (Ontario); but he soon opted to serve the Anglican church instead.[1] He married Sophia May Fish (1844-1916); and their family included daughter Eleanor Eliza (Ireland) MacDowell (1863-1949). In addition to his career as a priest, he was also involved in manufacturing: he was described as a manufacturer in the record of his death in Chicago on July 14, 1913.[2] He was buried on July 18th in the Cimetière Mont-Royal in Outremont, Montréal, Québec.[3]
