Biography

Corderoy Ironmonger was a US Southern Colonist.

Corderoy Iremonger (Ironmonger) was the fourth son born to Samuel Iremonger and his wife Bridget Cordray. He immigrated to Northumberland county, Virginia "before 1666, where he purchased 400 acres of land." He married Mary, widow of Abraham Field[1] (m between June and August 1674).[2]

Corderoy and Mary had no children.[1]

Corderoy Ironmonger died "intestate in Virginia...shortly before 5 June 1675 (date of his inventory). His widow Mary married (3rd) before 26 Sept. 1677 ____ Gallant."[1]

Research Notes

Estimated Birth Date: "About 1640" is a guess based on birth order given in Magna Carta Ancestry (#Richardson) and his older brother Francis being baptized 1635 at Shaw, Berkshire (also from Richardson & also the basis for Corderoy's birth location).
