Columbus C. Irvin, son of James and Louise (Haydel) Irvin, was born on 1 June 1892 at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, USA. He was baptized on 24 July 1892 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Patterson, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. His father died before 1900 and he appeared on the census of 5 May 1900 living as a servant, but going to school, in the George and Josephine Boutte home at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. He appeared on the census of 18 April 1910 in the household of his mother at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. In 1917 he was a laborer at Riggs Cypress Co. Ltd., a shingle mill, at Patterson, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.
He married Marie Clara Pelletier, daughter of Joseph Ernest Pelletier and Marie Laetar Laure (Nabonne) Pelletier, circa 1923.
He and Marie Clara appeared on the census of 1930 at 1367 52nd Ave., Oakland, Alameda Co., California. He was a janitor at an airport when he and Marie Clara appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at 823 West St., Oakland, Alameda County, California. 
Columbus died on 5 Nov. 1965 at Alameda County, California, at age 73.
