Educated at Trinity College School, Port Hope, and Trinity University, Toronto (B.A., 1877, M.A., 1881).[1]
Called to the Bar in 1880, he first practiced at Newmarket, Ontario.
1882 moved to start his own practice in Victoria, British Columbia.
1 May 1883 Appointed Deputy-Attorney-General for British Columbia.
March 1889 appointed Pusine Judge for the British Columbia Supreme Court.
1899 appointed to settle the Atlin District Mining Disputes.[2]
