I'm a furniture designer, grew up in Oregon, and history is a hobby. These days I'm living in Finland (and I like to say I undid 200 years of westward migration with one 16 hour plane ride).

Jesse Yoakum merge is done. The formating of the footnotes is beyond me, but they need some tender loving care. Cari Yocom

Hi Julie,

Thank you for the link to the "Descendants of the Jersey Settlers" relating to the King family. A Harriet Ludlow (or Ludlam) does not appear in any other reference. Early History of Southampton Second Edition, George Rogers Howell, page 339, shows Frances Ludlow (written Ludlam until about 1776) as the daughter of William, whose will refers to son-in-law Samuel King among others (https://archive.org/details/earlyhistoryofso00howe_1/page/n679). The King & Swayze sections are interesting if not entirely accurate.

Hi Julie,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the US History Project would be a good fit based your current contributions to the WikiTree. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Julie,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send a private message.

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

Let's go for the merge. It's easy peasy. Everything is kept except you select which name, birth, death, etc. info. All the sources are kept from both sides, which means, mine has to fit into your info since it is so much larger. Just editing. I have no stake in this family. A year or so ago, I threw a fit because there were Yoakums et al all over the place that needed merging and sorting. Did my best, but just because it was such a mess. Let the better profile win! PS You merge to the older profile which would be yours. Cari Yocom

Hi Julie,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.

Ludwig :)

PS If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page.
