There were two John Irwin in Lancaster County, PA of almost the same age. There are many genealogical records that mix these two men up. The John Irvin I, ancestor of the Rev. George Irvin Jr. was confirmed by the Irvine Society of America in 1935 to be the son of William Irvine or Irwin who Immigrated to America in 1729 and settled in Lancaster, PA. His son, John Irwin I, was born in Lancaster. The other John Irvin was born in Ireland and immigrated to Lancaster. He was christened on or near the date of this John's birth. Hence the confusion. To make things even more difficult, it seems there is a very good chance that both of the John Irwin's in question were sons of John Irwins.
In order to preserve the integrity of this line, until I am able to verify which, if any, other John Irwins on wikitree are a match, I am going to make this John Irwin unique. Please let me know if, after reading his information, you think we share the same person.
