I don't believe that this William Irvine is the father of my 3xGrat Grandfather Matthew Irwin born Cleator Cumberland 1778.

I, and by inference muy ancestor Matthew are descended from the house of Bonshaw Tower in Dumfriesshire. There is no connection with the House of Drum in Aberdeenshire from which the Antrim family and this William claim descent. My y'DNA is on record. There is not a single DNA result posted as far as I can see, that substantiates this connection. For further explanation someone should contacy James Irvine at the Clan Irwin DNA Study.
