In 1871 John was married to Sarah Elizabeth from Liverpool. He was working as a seedsman. [4]
In 1881 John and Sarah were living in Wetheral with their children Thomas and Emma. John was a seedsman (florist). [5]
In 1891 John, Sarah and their three children were living in Wetheral. [6]
In 1901 John, Sarah and their son Lorne Lawrence were living in Wetheral. [7]
