Arthur Ison married Maudie Ison, daughter of Moses and Polly Ann Hogg Ison, on 31 May 1918. They were both born in Oscaloosa, Letcher County, Kentucky and were also residents of the same town at the time of their marriage.
They were married by B.B. Banks, at Uz, Letcher, Kentucky. The witnesses were Hiram Ison, Roose Ison, and Eli Brashear.

Chalvis married Opal Ison daughter of Kelly Ison and Callie Stallard on 5 Oct 1940, in Letcher Co., Ky.. Opal was born on 7 December 1921, in Oscaloosa, Letcher Co., KY. She died on 27 May 2001, in Lexington, KY. She was buried in George Ison Cemetery, Kingdom Come Cr., Letcher Co., Ky.
