Christian Ittig was born 22 Nov 1766 in Stone Arabia, Montgomery, New York to his parents, Christian Ittig and Margaretha Weaver He was christened on 25 Nov 1766. [1][2]
Christian died on 16 Apr 1814 and was buried in the graveyard beside the house of Mr.Henry Gross, two miles west of Johnstown. His will was dated 3/6/1813 and probated on 8/12/1814. The mentioned legatees were his wife, Elizabeth; sons Daniel, William and Christian; and daus Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth. Executors were George and William Frederick with witnesses: John Kessler, John D. Putman, Daniel Walker. [5][6][7][8]
On the last name: Some sources show Ittig and others show Edick. Eventually Ittig was replaced by Edick which is the Anglicized version of Ittig.
On Christian's birth month, several genealogical publications have his birth month as Sept but the church record shows Nov, which makes sense as all the other children of Christian and Margaretha had their children baptized 2 weeks after their birth.
On the Marriage Record, Elizabeth Empey is noted as Elizabeth Empiche but the several genealogical publications have her last name as Empey.
On Find A Grave, they have the September birth month rather than the November.
