Biography

His parents were Gideon IVES & Mary ROYCE. He was born 22 September 1706 in Wallingford, CT

He married Abigail FRISBIE on May 7th, 1730 in Bristol, Hartford Co, CT & they had 6 children.

Elnathan was organizer of Bristol Church.

Two of Elnathan’s nephews, Enos Amasa, followed him to Bristol.

Chauncey and Joseph Ives were clock makers.

Elnathan’s home was on the “Southington Road” near its union, at the bridge, with the Queen’s Road.

He resigned his office as Deacon of the Bristol church thirteen years before his death. His son and grandson ( possibly Reuben and Reuben, Jr. ) were both members.

Deacon Ives died 16 February 1777. He was buried at Old South Cemetery, Bristol, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA (also called Bridge St. Cemetery)
