Benjamin was born on 22 March 1855 in Robeson, North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Willis Ivey and Mary Jane (Barnes) Ivey. In the 1860 census Benj (age 6) was in Robeson, North Carolina.[1] In the 1870 census Benjamin (age 14), Farm Laborer, was in Britts, Robeson, North Carolina.[2] In the 1880 census B (age 24), Farming, was the single son of Willis Ivey in Britts, Robeson, North Carolina, United States.[3]
When Benjamin was 35 he married Lelia Walters on 8 January 1891 in Sterlings Mills, Robeson, North Carolina. The couple had 2 children: Elbert Ivey and @I3953@.[4] In the 1900 census Pinkney (age 47), Farmer, was the married head of household in Britts, Robeson, North Carolina.[5]
Benjamin died on 28 August 1907 and was buried in Stephens-Lawson Cemetery, Orrum, Robeson County, North Carolina, United States.[6]
