I recently found out that "Jeff" [Thomas Jefferson Ivey-561] had told one of his granddaughter's [Jessie Harriet Ivey-2768 Grubbs, daughter of Edward Warren Ivey-571] when she was less than 8 years old.
"I always knew that I was "illegitimate" and he told her that Thomas Major Lloyd was his father".
This story was then passed on to her grand nephew, Bob Bryan who kept it secret because it was conveyed in confidence. But finally passed to me on 15 March 2023. The conversation was a conference call with my cousin Gary Clark-55388 who has been our families historian thru the years. I need to thank my sister Diane for also having the love for family history and getting me in touch with Bob Brian. Bob spent his life (starting in his youth) writting pedigrees for dairy cattle in North Carolina. So he also knows a bit about getting the story right.
