Meriwether, Georgia was an unincorporated community of Baldwin County. It is now the location of the Westbrook-Hubert Farm, listed in the U.S National Register of Historic Places.
A cousin told me this story, that our grandmother ( Lucy Spires), and my mother Ruby Towns) and one of her sisters, moved in with his mother (Living Towns) and daddy ( Payton Towns, my mother's brother). My cousin's daddy was married to my daddy's sister, and my daddy would come over to check on his sister and that's how he met my mother. Not too long after that, my daddy was visiting them, but not his sister, but to visit with my mother. ==>Ivey-594 15:30, 5 April 2017 (EDT)
My mother and father married when my mother was 15 years old. My maternal grandmother ( Lucy Towns) told my daddy that she would consent to their marriage only if he promised that my mother would finish high school and graduate. She graduated from Peabody High School (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milledgeville,_Georgia) in 1955. ==>Ivey-594 15:30, 5 April 2017 (EDT)
