Research Notes

There is conflicting information in her birth location:

  1. The original data in this profile claims a birth location of Ireland, with no supporting documentation other than the FaG memorial of daughter, Josephine, that states her parents were from Ireland and Scotland (again, no supporting documentation).
  2. Records:
- 1850, 1860 census - North Carolina
- 1870 census - Tennessee
- 1918 Death Cert of son, Abram Ivey Owen - Rutherford Co, Tennessee
- 1920 Death Cert of daughter, Elizabeth Vance - Kentucky
- later census records of children - Tennessee

Some family researchers indicate her parents may have been Thomas Rutlege Ivey and Melinda Scott of Rutherford County,Tennessee, with children named: Thomas, Sarah Minervy, Abram S, Mary Jane, and Margaret Jane. More research is needed to determine if this is a possible family connection. (See Adam Ivey of Charles City County by Robert W. Baird, page 75.)
