Biography

This biography is a rough draft. It was auto-generated by a GEDCOM import and needs to be edited.

Two Benjamin Iveys entered into Parish Register for a Benjamin Ivey born May 24, one 1760 and one 1761. This Benjamin appears to have moved from Virginia to Raldolph Co., NC by 1790 as is absent from Virginia 1790 tax list.

  • 1790 Census - Randolph County, North Carolina[1]

According to another researcher, the will proved in 1802 names wife Sally. Grandson by this Benjamin is named John Reese, so it is likely that this Benjamin married Sally Reese. [2]

  • Probate 1812 [3] Microfiche page 26 of 38 (the inventory) indicates death was August 30, 1802. Most of the documents concern the guardianship of the heirs.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:

Ivey-319 and Ivey-85 appear to represent the same person because: I agree these are the same person. Need resources and documentation to clarify the wife. Maybe putting a note in the biography will indicate more clearly what we don't know. Deciding factor is that Shankle is given as daughter for both.

Ivey-319 and Ivey-85 are not ready to be merged because: Need sources to support that wife is Kincheon and not Reese. Or that Sally Kincheon and Reese are the same person. I have seen a Ben Ivey married to a Kincheon but this may not be the same Ben. Just needs more documentation but it certainly is possible.

Ivey-319 and Ivey-85 appear to represent the same person because: These two records appear to represent the same individual. I believe Benjamin's wife was Sallie Kincheon (not Sarah (Reece) Ivey which I believe is an incorrect link).
