Parascevia (Pearl) Iwaniw, daughter of Tekla Iwaniw was born in Radwańce, Radekhiv, Lviv, Ukraine, 31 October 1921.[1] After the passing of Tekla's sister, Anna in Vilna, Alberta in 1935, Tekla and her daughter Pearl emigrated to Canada, where Tekla was to marry her sister's widower, Michael Mochulski.
[2] Tekla and Pearl sailed from Liverpool, England, 3 July 1936 bound for Canada.[3]
Pearl married Mike Halsuchak in Vilna, Alberta, 28 October 1944.[4][5] MIke and Pearl settled on a farm east of Vilna where 3 daughters were born. Joan in 1945, Patricia in 1951 and Marie in 1952. Following Mike's death in a farming accident, 17 October 1956, Pearl married Metro Kapicki in Vilna, 11 August 1958.
Pearl and Metro continued to live on Pearl's farm east of Vilna, One son, Danny was born in 1959.
Metro and Pearl were involved in a tragic car accident, 3 February 1988. Pearl died shortly after the accident occurred. [6][7] She is buried in Ruth Catholic Cemetery, Vilna, Alberta, Canada.[8]
