Walter, born 13 March 1713/4, was the oldest son of Walter Izard and Mary Turgis. He inherited his father's plantations on the Ashley and Combahee rivers and made his home at Cedar Grove Plantation.
He married Elizabeth Gibbes on 20 November 1739. She was the daughter of John Gibbes and Anne Broughton. They had children Walter (1740-1744), Francis (b.&d. 1743), John, Joseph (b.&d. 1749), Anne (m. William Blake), and Mary (m. Arthur Middleton).
Walter died 16 January 1759.
