Research Notes

A review of the deaths between 1841 & 1851 has been conducted looking in an effort to eliminate other possible William Jackas using the following surname spellings Jacka, Jacca, Jaca, Jacko, Jacco, Jaco, Jackow, Jackah at the following sites

The following databases were consulted

1. FreeBMD website (Index database at https://www.freebmd.org.uk)
2. GRO Online Index (Index database at https://www.gov.uk/general-register-office)
3. Cornwall OPC Database (Index database with transcriptions at https://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/)
4. FreeReg (Index database with transcriptions at https://www.freereg.org.uk/)
5. London, England, Church of England Deaths and Burials, 1813-2003 (Database with images at https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/1559/)

Only one William Jacka was found, fortunately his age at death matched nicely with the birth year of this William Jacka, see above profile for more information.

Discrepency of the father given in his marriage records

William gave his father as William Jacka, Stone Mason which I believe was probably incorrect to cover-up his illegitmate birth, as he was not living in his parish of birth there would have been no-one to challenge his assertion.

Further research may lead to different conclusion but at the moment this appears to be the most reasonable explanation.
