James was born in 1842 and baptised the son of William & Maria Jacka living in Newquay on the 25 December 1842, the son of Richard Jacka and Maria Elliot.[1] [2]

James died on the 24 December 1874 at the age of 33, and was buried 3 days later on the 27th of December, he was living in Newquay at the time of his death.[6]
