Biography

Edna was born in 1896. She is the daughter of Thomas Jacka and Marion (Waters) Jacka. ^[1]

In 1920 Edna married Herbert Roland Houghton who was the son of her brother-in-law, Rowland Paul Houghton, and his 2nd wife, her older sister Ellen Ada Muriel Jacka (Herbert' Step-mother).

Edna Houghton died seven years later in 1927 at the age of 29 at the King George V Hospital in Rotorua. Leaving 5 children.

Her funeral was in Auckland, and she was buried in Purewa Cemetery on 11 January 1927. Her husband Herbert Houghton was buried in 1969 in the Rotorua Cemetery in Sala Street.
