Research Notes
Date of Birth: Birth date is an estimate based upon marriage date, it has been assumed that Thomas got married as an adult at the age of 21 or older.
Possible Parents: The identification of Thomas & Joan as parents of Nicholas, Honour & John is conjectural, but they are the only Jacka's recorded in Paul parish at this time period. Their own origins are likely to be found in the neighboring parish of St. Buryan which records a multitude of Jacka's in the latter half of the 17th century, although other Jacka's appear in the records of Sancreed & Madron parishes to the north and west of Penzance.[3]
Residence in 1696: Thomas would have been alive in 1696 and possibly signed[or listed in] the 1696 Association Oath Rolls there are three possibilities listed in the Rolls, two which seem likely candidates:
Although they did not sign the same Roll they did come from the same area of St Buryan or Paul and might be related in some way, which supports the theory that his father's name was also Thomas.
