When Thomas Marion Jacks was born on April 11, 1832, in Missouri, his father, Thomas, was 34 and his mother, Cynthia, was 32. He had one son from one relationship, Robert, born about 1859. He then married Susannah 'Susan Ann' J. Martin (1842-1884) on November 17, 1859 in Platte County, Missouri.[1] They had nine children:

Susan died of septicemia from complications of her miscarriage, on November 24, 1884 and Thomas died on November 12, 1892, in Howard, Missouri, at the age of 60, and was buried in Platte, Missouri.
