DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
This page is not correct. If John Jackson and Elizabeth (Edgerton) Jackson had a son John, he would not have been born in America. Also, a birth year of 1865 would have him being born 47 years before their daughter Alice (his sister), who is listed clearly in the Quaker records. Most of the information on this page is for a John Jackson who was born and died in America and who was the son of Elizabeth Dick. In other words, not from this family. I have seen no evidence of a John Jackson in this family.
Thanks for pointing this out. It’s probably a clerical error I made several years ago when I was a “baby” genealogist. :) I’ll go ahead and unlink these parents from John Jr.
I have John Jackson and Elizabeth Edgerton having John in 1685 in England. He married Ruth Beall. They had Philip in 1707 my 6th ggf. along with Mercy, Margaret and maybe more.
