Biography

William Henry Jackson was born in 1819. William was a Farmer, commercial fisherman, and employee of Circus. [1]

Marriage and Family

On 1 May 1841, William H. Jackson married Mary E. Palmeter in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA. [2]

On 12 Sep 1850 at the time of the 1850 US Census, head of household William Jacksonn (age 30, born in Ohio) was employed as a Farmer and living on property valued at $600 in Middleton, Wood County, Ohio with his wife, Mary Jackson (age 24, born in New York), their daughter Lydia Jackson (age 8, born in Ohio), daughter Anna Jackson (age 6, born in Ohio), daughter Clarissa Jackson (age 2, born in Ohio) and daughter Louisa Jackson (age 2, born in Ohio). [3]

On 25 Jul 1860 at the time of the 1860 US Census, head of household William Jackson (age 42, born in Ohio) was employed as a "Showman" and living on a property valued at $1,500 in Middleton Township, Wood County, Ohio with his wife, Mary Jackson (age 34, born in New York), daughter Lydia Jackson (age 18, born in Ohio), daughter Arena Jackson (age 10, born in Ohio), daughter Clarissa Jackson (age 14, born in Ohio), daugther Louisa Jackson (age 12, born in Ohio), son Perry Jackson (age 10, born in Ohio), daughter Mary A. Jackson (age 8, born in Ohio), daugther Phoebe Jackson (age 6, born in Ohio) and son Charles Jackson (age 2, born in Ohio. William Jackson's personal estate was valued at $200. [4]

On 17 Jun 1870 at the time of the 1870 US Census, head of household William Jackson (age 50, born in OH) was employed as a Farmer and living in Troy, Ohio with value of real estate owned of $0 and personal estate valued at $150 with his wife Mary E. Jackson (age 43, born in NY), daughter Louisa Jackson (age 22, born in OH), son Perry Jackson (age 19, born in OH), daughter Mary A. Jackson (age 18, born in OH) who was employed as a Domestic Servant, daughter Phebe Jackson (age 16, born in OH), and son Charles Jackson (age 12, born in OH). [5]

On 23 Jun 1880 at the time of the 1880 US Census, head of household William H. Jackson (age 60, born in OH) was employed as a Farmer and living in Middleton Township, Ohio with his wife Mary E. Jackson (age 54, born in NY) and their son Charles (age 22, born in OH). William's father was born in New York and his mother in Vermont; both of Mary's parents were born in New York. [6]

Death and Legacy

On 8 Dec 1892, William Henry Jackson died at 73 years, 2 months of age in Nottawa, St. Joseph County, Michigan, United States. William had been employed as a Farmer, and the cause of his death was Pneumonia. [7] William H. Jackson was buried near his wife, Mary E. Jackson, at New Belleville Ridge Cemetery in Dowling, Wood County, Ohio, United States of America [8]
