Biography

According to the genealogy prepared by Jim Eakins: Gladys was a teacher and they lived in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.[1]

Research Note: Speak to Normal Buckler about his remembrances of Gladys and her cousin Laura Almeda Jackson. He remembers them as running the Long Island Hotel, in Long Island Beach, Connecticut. During the great depression, many West Dalhousie residents went to work for these two ladies.

Research Note: Bryan Shaw believes she was buried in a cemetery to the west of Gisbsons Lake (1/2 mil west and 7 miles south along a secondary road). Stuart Hannam refers to this as the Township of Dargie Cemetery (possibly referring to Dargie Lake and Township Brook). Must talk Bryan into taking me out there as there are several roads into that area and as, doubtless, the cemetery will be most difficult to locate. Are there other Jacksons and Bucklers buried here?
