Biography

John H. Jackson was born 9 Jun 1812 in Knox County, Tennessee, USA. He was the son of William Jackson and Ann Boswell Jackson.[1]

John and Christiana Chanaberry married 2 May 1841 in Knox County, Tennessee. They lived in Knoxville.[2][3] John Jackson was mentioned as a witness in the estate settlement for his father-in-law, George P. Channaberry, who died sometime before 16 Jan 1857.[4]

In 1859, John was Heir and Settlement Administrator in his father's Will (written Jan 1; entered into court Mar 1862; and settled Aug 1864).[5] [6] His wife, Anna, went on ahead to Greene County, Missouri, and purchased property Apr 15, 1859, most likely from her father's estate.[4][7] In 1860, their family was enumerated in Knox County, Tennessee.[8]

By 1870 the family had moved to Pond Creek, Greene County, Missouri, where Anna began to sell their property in 1871. John died 16 Feb 1872, age 59, just over a month before their daughter Mary Jane married Mark Britain.[9][7][10]

A Memorial Stone for descendants of John is in the Wade Chapel Cemetery, in Republic, Greene County, Missouri.[11]

Dear PM,

You may notice several changes in this profile. There were flagged problems that probably resulted from a merge. There were duplicate files with the same information, and some of them were in the Sources section instead of in the Biography. I tried to leave it as close to your original as possible while fixing the little errors that had crept in.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Respectfully,
