Biography

Based on his age at death, James Jackson must have been born c. 1819.

Based on the marriage records of his son John to Margaret McCracken in 1866, his daughter Eliza to John Logan in 1868 and his daughter Margaret to Alexander Glenn in 1869, he must have started fathering children by 1840, and his occupation was labourer.

There is a James Jackson, labourer, living it Templemore Park, Ballymacarret, in the 1870 Belfast Street Directory. In the 1877 Belfast Street Directory, he is living at 66 Albertbridge Road.

His wife Agnes died of bronchitis at 60 Albertbridge Road, Belfast, on 1 March 1879, age 53. Their son-in-law John Logan was present.

He died of capillary bronchitis at 7 Lower Mount Street. Mary Scott of that address was present at death. In the 1896 Belfast Street Directory, 7 Lower Mount Street was the address of Charles Scott, labourer.
