We ended the Magna Carta Project affiliate scheme some time ago, which means a sticker on your profile should be deleted. You will see there is an error indication on it. Thank you for having expressed interest in the Project. Michael Cayley, co-Leader, Magna Carta Project

It looks like you may have some outstanding merges that need attention. You can find them by following the link at the top of this page under >My Wikitree>Watchlist, then hit the button that says Pending Merges. If you need help, just ask.

Thanks for helping with Wikitree

Hi again Rose! You're a member of the Google Group now. Since the group is open only to project members, could you add the affiliate sticker to your profile? The coding has changed since my last post... copy/paste the following coding to your profile. And Welcome back!!

Hello Rose

Thank you for your interest in the Magna Carta Project. The Magna Carta Project exists to categorize and improve profiles of the twenty-five medieval barons who were surety for Magna Carta; and two hundred fourty proven American colonial Gateway Ancestors who were their descendants; including the documented lineages that connect them.

Step #1

To get started please visit the Magna Carta Main Portal for information on how you can be involved and review the new requirements for membership.

Step #2

Step #3

Please join us in The Magna Carta Google group to get in on the inside of what is happening in the Project, where you can ask questions, and stay in touch with Magna Carta members. Just Click on the following link to send a join request. Be sure to include your email address and Wikitree ID so we will know who you are.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Rose,

Welcome to WikiTree! Merging profiles can be complicated. And merging profiles that should not have been merged can create a lot of problems. While you're still new to WikiTree I recommend that you only complete merges for profiles when you are familiar with the people involved. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks! Kay

Hey Rose, I see you are working on merges, you should review Merging FAQs to understand your responsibilities in doing merges. Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the text. During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section. Thanks so much for helping improve Wikitree! If you have any questions, just let me know.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Be sure to also check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members! Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you! Lee - Volunteer Coordinator

I just saw that I have the power to welcome you, Rose. That's awesome, and my pleasure to do so. I'm not an official greeter, but let me know if I can help in any way.
