Michael married Sarah Badger on 22 Feb 1791, in Natick, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.[4] They had three children whom they registered in Newton:
Michael Jackson's Last Will and Testament was dated 16 Aug 1802. He made his wife, Sarah, his sole executor and unconditionally bequeathed his entire estate, after payment of his just debts and apart from specific legacies, to her.[9] In this will, he named his three children, who were each to receive a legacy of $20.00 when they turned 21: Stephen Badger Jackson, James Lander Jackson, and Abigail Hill Jackson. Sarah Jackson presented his will to Oliver Prescott, Judge of the Probate Court, and it was accepted for probate on 2 Nov 1802.[10] She signed the administration bond, with William Greenough Clark of Newton and Ebenezer Wells of Cambridge (a "salemaker" - sail maker?) as her sureties, that same day.[11]
Note: Newton was known as "the newe towne" until 1638, when it was renamed Cambridge. It was incorporated in 1688 as Cambridge Village, then renamed Newtown in 1691. It was named Newton in 1766.
