Biography

Aaron was born on 31 December 1837 in Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio,^[1] the oldest of seven known children and six sons of Simon and Duey Jackson. He married an unknown woman and they had two children, both sons, whom he named

1. Melvin Asberry Jackson (1870-1946) and
2. Aaron Wamsley, b1882.

On 22 January 1901, Aaron died in Woodsfield of unknown causes, several weeks after he turned sixty-three.^[2]

Neither he nor his siblings is shown as attending school although both parents are reported to be literate. His father is a 32-year-old farmer with $700 in real property,
