Herbert Jackson was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
Herbert was born in 1895, the son of David Jackson and Ada Deacon. [1]
Herbert joined the AIF in WW1. JACKSON Herbert Cromwell : Service Number - 3179 : Place of Birth - Melbourne VIC : Place of Enlistment - Broadmeadows VIC : Next of Kin - (Father) JACKSON David James P [2]
He was KIA in 1917. JACKSON. — Officially reported killed in action, October 11, 1917 (previously reported missing), Herbert Cromwell (Dick), third beloved son of D. J. P. and the late A. A. Jackson, 33 Rathmines road, Auburn, brother of Edie (staff nurse, Salonika), Frank, Phil (both with A.I.F.), Annie, and Edna, grandson of the late F. Jackson (Drouin and Diamond Creek) and the late F. Deacon (Melbourne), aged 22 years and 7 months.[3]
