Biography

Joshua William Jackson, son of Joshua Jackson and Sarah Jackson, was born on 15 May 1838 and baptised on 10 June 1838 in Eling, Hampshire, England.^[1][2][3]

In the 1851 census Joshua (age 12) was living in Eling, Hampshire, England.^[4]

In the 1861 census Joshua (age 22) was living in Testwood Eling, Hampshire, England. He was employed as a Sailor.^[5]

When Joshua was 23 he married Fanny Roberts on 18 June 1861 in Parish Church, Eling, Southampton, Hampshire.^[6]

The couple had one child: William Henry Jackson.

In the 1871 census Joshua (age 32) was living in Eling, Hampshire, England.^[7]

In the 1881 census Joshua (age 42) was in Melcombe Regis, Dorset, England. He was employed as a Mate on the vessel "Elizabeth & Mary".^[8][9]

In the 1891 census Joshua (age 52) was living in Eling, Hampshire, England.^[10]

In the 1901 census Joshua (age 62) was living in Eling, Hampshire, England. He was employed as a Fisherman.^[11]

Joshua died at the age of 77 in June 1915 in Hampshire, United Kingdom.^[12]
