Martha was born in Stalybridge, Lancashire, England in 1857.
She met and married Charles Langdale Ashton in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England in 1877 and then she emigrated to Australia with her husband Charles and 2 children between 1878 and 1881.
Martha passed away in Temora, NSW, Australia on May 20, 1909, age 51-52 and is buried in Temora Cemetery, Temora, Temora Shire, New South Wales, Australia
