Elizabeth Jackson was born on about 9 December 1896. She was the daughter of Alexander Ritchie Jackson and Frances Lilian Walker.
She was baptised on 14 February 1897 at St George's Church, Manchester, Lancashire[1].

Her mother Frances died in April 1912. Her father remarried, to widow Esther Gerrily on 4 April 1915 at St. Anne, Newton, Lancashire.
At the age of 19 Elizabeth married South African born 22 year old Colin Alexander Mair on 23 August 1916 in the Thorp Road Presbyterian Congregational Church, in the District of Prestwich, by Licence[2]. Colin was a 2nd Lieut. with the A.S.C. and a Solicitor's Articled Clerk of Park Hall Camp, Oswestry. Elizabeth was a spinster of 19 Bath Street, Newton Heath. Joseph Richardson Wolfenden and Florence Jackson were the witnesses.
They went on to have three children. They settled in her husband's home country, South Africa.
Her husband Colin passed away in 1939 at the age of 46.
Elizabeth passed away on 13 April 1963[3]. Cause of death was recorded as Coronary Athero Sclerosis.
Intended place of burial was Maitland Cemetery[4].
