Biography

Orla was born in 1883 [1]. He is the son of John Jackson and Ella Goodshaw. At the age of 17, as described in the US Census for 1900, Orla (or Orley, as he was called), lived on the farm of Orlando Jenkins of East Hebron, New York, where he worked as a farm hand [2]. In the next year, Orla married Lillian M. Lowell in Hebron on 22 June 1901 [3]. She would die in 1927 and would leave no children.

In October of 1930, Orla would marry again. His bride was Daisy (Towne) Fisher, the widow of Milton Fisher. The wedding took place once again in Hebron, New York [4]. According to the 1940 US Census, Daisy brought two children to this marriage, a daughter and a son. In 1932, Marjorie Jackson was born to the couple [5].

Orla Temple Jackson died on 5 Nov 1948. He was interred with other family members in Mountain View Cemetery, West Pawlet, Rutland County, Vermont [6]
