Biography

Mary (Jackson) Hughes was born in Oxfordshire, England.

Mary was born in 1778. She was the daughter of Henry Jackson and Mary Collier. She was baptised on 18 Dec 1778 in Witney, Oxfordshire ^[1]

Mary married Arthur Hughes in 24 Aug 1800 in Witney, Oxfordshire. Arthur was of St Thomas parish and Mary from Crawley in the Witney Parish, they married after Licence. Sarah Jackson, sister to Mary was one of the witnesses. ^[2]

In 1841 she is living in Oxford with Arthur with her nephew Henry Jaggar and her niece Mary Watts, these children entered as aged 10 are cousins through the three sisters, Mary, Anne and Elizabeth Jackson. ^[3]

Arthur died in 1846 and named mary as his sole benificiary.

Mary Hughes aged 71 died in St Thomas, Oxford Oxfordshire and was buried there on 16 Oct 1850. ^[4]
