Biography

William Henry Jackson was born July 25, 1858 in St Stephens, Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of William Jackson and Adelaide Hanson. At age 1, he was in his parent's home in St Stephen, Charlotte, New Brunswick.[1]

He married Josephine Fulton on July 25, 1888 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.[2] They had at least 3 children.

  1. Bertran Isadore Jackson (1890-1906)[3]
  2. Laurice Henry jackson (1892-1922)[4]
  3. Mildred F Jackson (1899-1899)

They lived in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts in 1900, where He was a Coal Dealer.[5] At this time Bertram-9, and Laurice-7 had been born and were in the home along with a Nephew, Alton Thompson, and Neice, Margaretha Thompson.

By 1920, they had moved to Los Angeles, Assembly District 71, Los Angeles, California, where He was a Ship Carpenter.[6]

He died at age 82, on December 4, 1940 in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California.[7]

Note: He was born and raised on the Bowery. He and Josie went to Boston and established a coal and wood business at 15 Hanneman Street, Roxbury. His brothers Amaziah and George and cousin Isiah Dean worked for him. In about 1913 he sold the business and moved to San Pedro, Calif. and invested in real estate. They are both buried there in a grand mausoleum. He willed his property to two grandchildren, Lorrice Jr. and Lillian. [JWP]
