Hannah (Jacob) French has English ancestors.

Hannah was born on the 23rd February, 1639, at Hingham, daughter of Nicholas and Mary Jacob. Hannah was baptized at Hingham February 23, 1639-40[1]

Her father "came from old Hingham in England in 1633, with his wife and two children, and their cousin Thomas Lincoln "weaver," according to Gushing, the local annalist. Hannah survived Thomas Loring and married second, to Captain Stephen French, of Weymouth; Hannah died October 20, 1720.

Hannah married 1. Thomas Loring, son of Deacon Thomas Loring and Jane (Newton) Loring on 16th December, 1657.[2]

  1. Benjamin b. in 1662.
  2. Hannah bapt. at Hingham, Apr 2, 1665; m. (1) June 5, 1685, Rev. Jeremiah Cushing; m. (2) John Barker, Esq., of Scituate.
  3. Thomas b. Mar. 15, 1667-8.
  4. Deborah b. Mar. 15, 1667-8;m. May 20, 1687, John Cushing, Chief Justice of Plymouth court and a judge in theSupreme Court of Massachusetts.
  5. David b. Sept. 15, 1671.
  6. Caleb b. June 9, 1674.
  7. Abigail b. Feb. 5, 1676; d. Feb. 1, 1678.

Hannah married 2. Capt. Stephen French after the death of her first husband in 1678. No children were born to this union.

Hannah died on the 7th October 1720 as shown on her gravestone[3] however, the text also states 8th, which appears to be an error as does the date of the 20th in the Loring Genealogy.[1]

Jacob-1588 and Jacob-1 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse, parents etc and siblings create a set for Thomas Loring.
