When Susannah Jacobs was born in 1828, her father, William, was a young man in his early 20’s. She was the first child which eventually became a family of 15 children. But every child had their own chores growing up on a farm in Pennsylvania. Their mother was only a young woman of 20 when she married and began having children. Susannah had a full life, meeting Joseph Sherwood in a nearby farm. They married and had almost as large a family as her mother, 11 children. She died on March 7, 1900, in Doddridge, West Virginia, at the age of 71 and was buried there.
