October 16, 1909-December 5, 2003 Beloved husband of Sadye (Binen), devoted father to Herman (Marsha), Harriet Lynn, Jerry [deceased] (Judi); survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Bea Copenhagen, Joanne Koplow, Roz Bellinger and brother Irwin Jacobs. George passed away in Rancho Mirage of congestive heart failure. George was a pioneer in the health food industry and founded Hain Pure Foods and Hollywood Foods. He was a man ahead of the times and helped develop a market for safflower oil and chemical/preservative-free natural foods. George graduated with a degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, 1934. He was a Mason and a Shriner. George will be remembered as a devoted family man who lovingly made waffles and banana split sundaes for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park. [7]
