Johannes (John) Vermilye (of many spellings) was born in Leyden Holland in 1632 and came with his parents, Isaac Vermilye (born 1601 in London) and Jacomina Jacobs abt 1662 on the Brindle Cow. Isaac's parents were French Huguenots, Jean Vermeille and Marie Roubley, who escaped France, came to London, and later relocated to Holland about 1612.To my knowledge, no one has ever been able to definitively trace this line of Vermeilles in France.[1]
