Biography

Willum Jacobsen Lind was a trader in Northern Norway mentioned many times in the records. His name appears in various forms, including Vellam Lingh or Linch. He is known to have settled at Arnøya, Gildeskål, but owned trading stations many places in Nordland.

He is probably not the "Willum Lind Skot" who took citicenship in Bergen around 1570, "Willum Jacobsen Lind" obtained citicenship in Bergen in 1602.

Married #2 to Margret Gjertsdatter. Children:

  1. Jacob
  2. Willum
  3. Hartvig

Willum Lind owned land at Valnes, Straumen, which was passed on to Gjert Gjersen Hols from Sør-Arnøya, who was most likely married to a daughter or the widow of Willum Lind.

Kremmer-4 and Jacobsen-1101 appear to represent the same person because: Jacobsen or Lind is the correct surname. "Kremmer" is the occupation, and therefore a nickname.
