OREANA — Elmer L. Jacoby, 86, of Oreana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL.

Elmer was born July 9, 1926 in Cutler, IL, the son of Daniel and Tressie (Ledbetter) Jacoby. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and member of Oreana Baptist Church for 60 years. He loved his church and faithfully served the Lord as Board Chairman, Trustee, and Financial Secretary. Elmer was the owner and operator of Jacoby Heating and Sheet Metal until he retired. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 218 in Decatur, IL. He married Lillian J. Norman on August 7, 1948 in Peola, IN.

Surviving is his wife, Lillian Jacoby; son, Robert (Janet) Jacoby of Decatur; daughters: Carolyn (Larry) of Oreana and Marilyn (Richard) Montague of Oreana; brothers, Ira (Dorthea) Jacoby of Mt. Zion and Arthur Jacoby of Decatur; sister, Freda (Johnny) Roberts of Mt. Zion; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, September 15, 2012 in Resurrection Life Church with visitation from 5 to 7 pm Friday in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Macon County Memorial Park with a "Flight Home Ceremony." Memorial gifts may be made to: Oreana Baptist Church.
